A young couple with varied professional lives purchased a ranch style home with a vision for remodeling it and adding a custom ADU design in the back yard. The ADU provides not only a 2 bedroom apartment for occasional guests but as its primary purpose is a studio for teaching music and hosting recitals. The lower level is acoustically separated from the space above and serves as a woodworking and cabinet shop. The primary living spaces in the original home were opened up to provide a Great Room arrangement with vaulted ceiling and the bathrooms were remodeled and re-configured.
