Equestrian Residence

The owner for this custom home design sought to create a homestead for a residence, a horse barn, pastures for horses and a Dressage practice arena. My work involved design of the home and refinement of the conceptual barn design to make it more buildable. The residence portion of the project focused on a home for caretakers of the property and horses. Display opportunities for some of the owner's art collection was incorporated within the home and large windows were provided to create art-like views into the landscape from the Kitchen, Dining and Living Areas. The ventilating cupolas of the barn design were repurposed in the residence design to provide top light for the Living Area and the bedroom hallway. A 3-season porch off the Kitchen rounds out the design, providing outdoor living space overlooking the barn and pastures. The home was constructed by Dodson Building Company and the Barn was constructed by Fox General Contractors.
