Poolside Additions

The owners of this home sought to develop a pool house, shaded terrace, hot tub and outdoor fire pit area to enhance outdoor enjoyment and living opportunities in relation to the existing swimming pool. In addition, covered parking for their young adult children and friends, a potting shed, a workshop and place for the swimming pool equipment were desired. The Pool House forms a central, top-lit pavilion, flanked by lower volumes housing the miscellaneous functions. The long side of the new building faces south, with the opportunity to be thrown open to a lawn between the Pool House and the new shaded terrace, hot tub and outdoor fire pit. A unique opportunity arose with the addition of a high quality observatory to facilitate the owner’s enjoyment of planet, star and galaxy gazing. Built by Dodson Construction.
