The client for this custom home design recognized an opportunity for a conveniently located home on a narrow undeveloped lot along a thoroughfare. The main residence is lifted above the street on a masonry podium, providing covered off-street parking, mechanical space, storage and a studio apartment that will offer much-needed affordable housing for the area. The main residence is entered via a stair leading to a gracious screened outdoor living area where much of daily life will take place.
