The owners of this traditional home design had recently completed a lovely front porch across the street side of the home and and desired to enhance the livability of key areas of the interior. At the same time, the rather random exterior shapes on the back of the home had problematic details and the spaces did not take advantage of views into a lovely backyard garden area.

The solutions include an expanded carport area with direct access to a new Daily Entry with cubbies, benches and a drop-off zone, an enhanced Kitchen opening onto a new Family Room and informal Dining Area, a Screened Porch, a new Primary Bedroom Suite upstairs and a dramatic faux skylight in the upper level hall - previously a dark space in the center of the home. To complete the exterior living spaces, the owners further enhanced the back yard garden area into a lush landscape providing the restorative effects afforded by the natural environment.
